Charles started his training career with HM Customs and Excise as a staff trainer and followed this by taking up a Senior Lecturer post with the Civil Service College, where he stayed for over five years. His last post before becoming a freelance consultant was as Head of Training at the Office for Standards in Education.
He is particularly experienced in the design and delivery of core skills, management skills, team working and creative problem solving programmes and is very keen that participants on his programmes are provided with practical ideas, approaches and solutions that can be immediately applied to the work place.
Charles has tutored on the National School of Government’s consultancy skills, partnership working, core skills and creative problem solving programmes. He is currently an Associate of Civil Service Learning and also undertakes international work on behalf of the European Community, the Asian Development Bank and RIPA International.
Recent projects have seen Charles developing current thinking and training in the areas of partnership working and creative problem solving and using his consultancy skills to help several high profile public service organisations effectively manage major change.
