During the day you will:

 ·          Identify the key elements of an effective presentation

·          Be given hints and tips for avoiding common presentation pitfalls

·          Be given guidance on how to use notes, examples and visual aids effectively

·          Be given some ideas about how to manage and look after your self during a presentation

·          Practise giving presentations and be given helpful and constructive feedback on your performance

 

09.00 Start

1. Welcome, aims, approach and introductions

 

2. Preparing your presentation (stage 1)

 ·          Identifying your purpose and the type of presentation that you need to do

·          Knowing your audience

·          Identifying your key content

·          Using tools and techniques to get the most out of your preparation time

 

BREAK

 

3. Preparing your presentation (Stage 2)

·          Identifying the structure most appropriate to your needs

·          Choosing the best way to start and finish

·          Selecting and using the most appropriate visual aids, examples and handouts

·          Preparing and using notes that will help you give an effective presentation

 

Lunch

 

4. Presentation practice

·          Ten minute presentations from each participant

·          15 minutes of group feedback

·          25 minutes of one to one video feedback for each participant

 

BREAK

  

5. Presentation practice continued

 

6. Review and evaluation of the day
